April 6 – 7, 2024,  Pacific Northwest Pilates Education’s IQ of Movement conference will focus workshops designed to support “Pilates for Active Aging.” With the U.S. aging population increasing, effective Pilates teaching for this demographic is crucial. STOTT PILATES® workshops by PNWPE will address exercise modifications: how to program Pilates to make exercise relevant and functional for an active, aging population.

Pacific Northwest Pilates Education team will collaborate to teach STOTT PILATES workshops this April 2024 with a focus on the Active Aging Adult.

Individuals with particular postural concerns benefit from tailored programs to realign their skeleton and rebalance muscles effectively. This lecture/demo, created by the Merrithew® team, examines exercises from the Essential Reformer repertoire. It delves into how these movements can be customized for each person. Specific postural habits are explored, focusing on muscular imbalances related to kyphosis-lordosis, sway back, and flat back postures. The session covers recognizing and targeting lengthened, weak, shortened, or tight muscles due to these habits. It also addresses exercise selection, appropriate cues, and modifications.
